Manuscript Evaluation and Copy Editing Services
Karen provides detailed manuscript evaluations focusing on substantive elements, rather than line-edits. These critiques include an analysis of character, structure, plot, pacing, voice, and world-building. In a multi-page report, she will pose questions to help you form a vision for your manuscript revisions. She will also provide feedback on a synopsis or query letter. Karen edits early-reader, middle-grade, and young-adult fiction.
Karen also provides copyediting of fiction for children and teens. This includes correcting spelling and usage errors, ensuring clarity for the intended audience, fact-checking, and line-editing for inconsistencies, repetition, and flaws in logic.
Fees for both services are:
- $300 for manuscripts up to 30,000 words.
- $500 for manuscripts between 30,000 and 60,000 words.
- $700 for manuscripts between 60,000 and 90,000 words.
- $900 for manuscripts between 90,000 and 120,000 words.
