Karen Krossing graduated from University of Guelph with a degree in English. She worked for ten years as an editor in the educational publishing industry for publishers such as Oxford University Press and McGraw-Hill Ryerson. In this role, she developed print and new media titles as well as teaching strategy. This involved understanding the learning process, analyzing market trends, coordinating the writing and production process, as well as writing and editing.

Karen completed a Professional and Technical Writing program at York University in 1996. Since then, she has worked as a freelance copywriter and editor. Her projects include editing educational material as well as writing internet and print marketing communications for companies such as:
