Words have so much power. They can inspire people to do great things – like stop a war. They can make people laugh or cry. They can help us understand our world – like why people behave the way they do.
I love to play with words. I like to string them together in different ways, just to see what they can do. I like to polish them until they shine.
On these pages, I’ve brought together a sample of the writing techniques that I use to stretch my own writing muscles. I also use these writing games and ideas in my WordPlayers writing workshops with kids, teens, and adults. I hope these sample activities encourage you to explore new ways of writing and inspire you to create great stories, poems, rants, and more.
